Course Objectives:

  • To share and learn about recent and current research in India regarding intellectual disabilities.
  • To provide an overview of research methodologies.
  • To discuss the research code of conduct.
  • To discuss human ethics requirements.
  • To develop curricula and outlines for future training workshops in India on research methodology, research code of conduct, and research ethics.
  • To describe the preparation of research articles for submission to professional journals such as JPPID and JIDR and APA format requirements.

Course Outcomes:

Participants, working in small groups, will be invited to contribute their expertise on curriculum design and development of future training workshops to reach the following outcomes: (1) list of presentations, (2) country report on research in disabilities in India, (3) framework for research training curricula, (4) suggestions for future IASSID Academy workshops in India.
