Experience : Two months at Samadhan have been absolutely blissful for me. I took up this internship because I had immense free time on me but in the process I’ve learnt so much and positively reinforced my connect with ground realities of life. At Samadhan, I interacted with children with intellectual disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and Global Development Delays along with Speech problems. Watching these kids so enthusiastic about working hard on themselves, watching their viquour to improve and seeing them so happy all the time made me realize that life has so much to be thankful for, so much to look forward to and learn to make the best of the situation even when it doesn’t favour you. Even more acknowledgeable was the commitment of the mothers who brought their kids everyday. Hearing them talk about their personal challenges posed by family settings, society and social norms along with handling a child with intellectual disability made me truly look up to them, And all this they faced with a smile. My time at Samadhan was even more enjoyable with all the staff that work their who told me various old stories about the NGO, about how proud they were of the kids they had worked with who’ve done well, and for making it so comfortable for me to get involved and jell in. I’m truly grateful for this opportunity, and thank you for having me at Samadhan.
